Yesterday the Clemson Tigers (45-14) were one of 16 programs selected to host an NCAA regional for the 72nd-annual Division I Baseball Championship. Today the Tigers found out that their 45 wins weren't enough for a top 8 national seed as Clemson was the 10th seed.

The regional begins Friday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Clemson could host a Super Regional, but that is not guaranteed at this point. The winner of the Clemson Region will take on the winner of the Tallahassee region.

Clemson's region will feature No. 1 seed Clemson, No. 2 seed Vanderbilt, No. 3 seed St. John's, and No. 4 seed Morehead State.

The Tallahassee Region features ACC Champion Florida State as the No. 1 seed, No. 2 seed Mississippi State, No. 3 seed Oklahoma, and No. 4 seed Samford.

Clemson was one of four ACC schools chosen to host a regional, joining Florida State, North Carolina, and NC State.

It is the 16th time since 1980 that Clemson hosts a regional and third year in a row. The Tigers will make their 10th NCAA Tournament appearance in a row, 31st in the last 32 years and 43rd overall.
