Elementary, My Dear Watson: The Texans rookie quarterback impresses again
Houston Texan's quarterback Deshaun Watson added a 19-30, 402 yard, four touchdown performance to his already impressive rookie season. He also rushed for 67 yards on eight carries. Even though Houston came up just short, the Texans' future at quarterback might be the brightest in the NFL.
The buzz around the former Clemson star continues to build while the records continue to fall. Watson set a new rookie record for most touchdown's thrown through seven games with 19 this season.
Watson also became the first quarterback in NFL history with 400-or-more passing yards, four passing touchdowns, and 55-or-more rushing yards.
Sunday in Seattle, home of the Seahawks' 12th Man, Deshaun Watson got off to a great start hitting Will Fuller on a 59-yard laser.
Later in the first half, Watson hit Fuller again for his second touchdown pass of the day.
It was 21-21 at the half, and Watson was off to a good start going 11-18 for 216 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
In the early part of the 4th quarter, Watson was grabbed in the backfield, spun, and hit Lamar Miller for a two-yard touchdown, his third of the day giving the Texans a 31-27 lead.
In the fourth quarter, Watson hit former Clemson Tiger Deandre Hopkins on a tunnel screen that Hopkins took 72 yards to the end zone giving the Texans a 38-34 lead.
Hopkins finished with a big day as well snagging eight receptions for 224 yards and a score.
After Wilson's game-winning drive, Watson was picked off by Richard Sherman ending any hopes that Houston had of becoming the first AFC team since 2011 to win in Seattle.
Some say Watson makes it look easy; my deduction, it's elementary.
