CLEMSON, S.C. — The No. 2 Clemson Tigers (7-2, 2-1 ACC) suffered a 2-0 loss to No. 15 Pitt (5-3, 2-1 ACC) on Saturday night. The result ends the Tigers’ program-record 31-match unbeaten streak at Historic Riggs Field. The last Clemson loss on their home field was on October 16, 2018 in a 1-0 result to Coastal Carolina.

The first half, while scoreless, saw the Tigers outshoot Pitt 9-3. It wasn’t until the 58th minute when a Panther strike through traffic snuck past George Marks and found the bottom right corner of the net, giving Pitt the 1-0 advantage.

Just 10 minutes later, a beautiful through ball sent Pitt’s Bertin Jacquesson through on goal, and he slotted it home to put the Tigers down 2-0 with only 22 minutes left. Pitt’s defense held on to secure the clean sheet and handed Clemson its second loss this season.

Up next, the Tigers continue their ACC slate and hit the road to take on Wake Forest on Friday night. The match will kickoff at 7 p.m. and stream on ACCNX.
