Several former Clemson football standouts will be waiting anxiously to hear their names called Thursday night as the 2025 NFL Draft kicks off. Trenton Simpson was selected in 2023, but 2025 could prove to be a make-or-break season for the Baltimore Raven.
Clemson defensive tackle Payton Page and linebacker Barrett Carter participated in drills Thursday at the NFL Draft Combine. Tight end Jake Briningstool and safety RJ Mickens will perform at Lucas Oil Stadium on Friday. Briningstool took questions from the podium on Thursday.
On-field workouts at the 2025 NFL Draft Combine begin Thursday in Indianapolis. Representing Clemson will be defensive lineman Payton Page and linebacker Barrett Carter. Carter spoke to the media on Wednesday to talk about his opportunity to impress NFL personnel.
Clemson lost left tackle Elyjah Thurmon on the first play against Pittsburgh and Sammy Brown to a targeting call; both were already subbing in for injured starters. Brown's dismissal left a linebacker unit to survive with limited experience and Carter shouldering a heavy load in Pittsburgh.
