I guess you could say we all saw the writing on the wall, but that didn't make it any easier watching-- or dare I say NOT watching Clemson's name pop up on the television during CBS' release of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
The Tigers finished the year 23-10 overall and 14-6 in the ACC-- a record-setting year in conference play, but it wasn't enough to get into the field of 68.
NC State, a team that Clemson hammered three times this year, got in as a No. 11 seed. Clemson also beat No. 11 seed Pitt and ACC Champion and No. 5 seed Duke during the regular season. The Tigers also had a win over No. 10 seed Penn State, who played for the Big Ten title earlier today.
The NIT selection show airs tonight at 10 PM on ESPNU.

Clemson (23-10, 14-6) left out of NCAA Tournament...what a gut punch for the No. 3 team in the ACC. pic.twitter.com/0kr5OOyWa2

Everybody knows there were issues with Clemson's body of work.

News flash: The last 16 teams the committee picked had flaws in their bodies of work. Clemson beat several of those teams on the floor in actual games.
