Clemson defeated No. 20 North Carolina on Saturday in Death Valley. The seniors were able to cap off the last homestead of the season with a 31-20 victory. The Tar Heels managed to rack in 457 yards of offense, but only walk away with three touchdowns. They also ended up fumbling twice in the red zone.
One of the guys making plays for the Tigers was Nate Wiggins. The cornerback chased down runningback Omarion Hampton, which resulted in him fumbling the ball just short of the goal line. Wiggins forced the turnover, which resulted in a touchback for Clemson.
Head coach Dabo Swinney commented on Wiggins’ exciting play in his postgame interview.
“The play by Nate was unbelievable. That's one of the greatest football plays I've ever seen. It was special to watch.”
Wiggins now has 16 solo tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 2 interception on the season. Wiggins commented on his forced turnovers in his post game interview.
“I showed I can definitely cover one side of the field. I can lock down the best receiver you got.”
This week, the Tigers get ready to take on the Gamecocks in Columbia on rivalry weekend. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM on the SEC Network.
