Clemson linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. declares for the 2024 NFL Draft

Clemson junior linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. declared for the NFL draft by leaving a message to his family, teammates, coaches, and the Clemson fans via Instagram on Tuesday.

"I would like to first thank God for the blessings he has given me during my time at Clemson. Without God, I would not be here.

"Next, I would like to thank my family, past coaches and friends I have made throughout my life who had been with me on my journey. I genuinely hold all of you dear. Because of the sacrifices love and care you have given me. I have made memories with each of you that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I love all of you! 

"I want to thank my Clemson coaches, All of you have helped show me what it takes to excel in football while teaching me life lessons. All these lessons have helped develop me into the man of God. I am today. 

"To my Clemson teammates. THANK YOU! All of you are not just my friends, but are brothers for life. Much of my success on the field is a testament to the many hours of hard work we put in.

"Last but not least, THANK YOU, Clemson fans during my time at Clemson you have shown my family and I have nothing but love and appreciation. We have the best fans in the country. I will never forget the energy you fill Death Valley with during every home game.

"After long thought and prayer. I'm officially announcing that I am taking the next step in a lifelong dream and declaring for the for the 2024 NFL Draft.

"I will always be a Clemson Tiger! GO TIGERS!"

Trotter, an All-America linebacker and son of former NFL All-Pro linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Sr., entered 2023 credited with 114 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, seven pass breakups, a forced fumble and an interception (which he returned 35 yards for a touchdown) in 737 defensive snaps over 27 career games (14 starts).

The 2024 Butkus Award finalist, currently leads the Tigers in tackles (87), tackles for loss (14.5), and sacks (5.5). He also has five pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions with one returned for a score.
