Clemson center Ryan Linthicum met with the media recently and spoke about the 2024 season. He mentioned how excited he was to earn the starting center role in the upcoming season, saying, “God’s blessed me with this opportunity, and I just have to take advantage of it.”
Linthicum feels like he has learned so much from the guys who have come before him and from the coaches. He went on to say that even though he had to wait for his chance, he knows that this is God’s plan. Linthicum, a native of Damascus, Maryland, looks at his situation as a way for him to grow as a man and as a player.
As for the addition of new offensive line coach Matt Luke, Linthicum says he’s been learning a lot.
“Coach Luke is a mastermind… the way he gets up and draws the offense… I have just learned so much mentally through him.”
Linthicum feels that he has already developed so much from his short time with Luke. Mainly focusing on his technique, “every part of my game has skyrocketed.” He thinks that it can only get better as spring practice continues.
Being behind Will Putnam was a blessing for the 6-foot-3, 305-pound redshirt junior. He feels that the time he spent learning from Putnam has been some of the most influential parts of the Clemson program: “He’s a leader. A true Clemson man.”
Linthicum went on to add that he would not change a thing about his time at Clemson so far. As for fans, they are excited to see just how much the former four-star recruit has developed.
