CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson University men’s basketball was powered by PJ Hall (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman) and Joseph Girard III (Glens Falls, N.Y./Glens Falls) who were 20-point scorers in the victory, including Ian Schieffelin’s (Loganville, Ga./Grayson) ninth double-double of the season in the 90-75 win on Tuesday night.

The Tigers (21-9, 11-8 ACC) were led by Hall’s 25 points, Girard’s 21 points and Schieffelin’s 16 points and 16 rebounds. Chase Hunter (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake) totaled 17 points to help aid Clemson’s starting lineup 86 of its 90 points.

Jack Clark (Cheltenham, Pa./Cheltenham) added seven points and five assists in his return to the court.

In two games against Syracuse this season, Girard is averaging 19.5 points and has finished 10-for-14 from the floor, including 8-for-12 from three.

Clemson got off to a fast start in the opening stanza, jumping out to a 16-5 lead. Syracuse cut the lead to two in the first half, but the Tigers were able to push it back to double-digits before the break and lead 42-30 at half.

Leading by 12 at the break, Clemson kept Syracuse at bay for most of the second half. The Tigers let the Orange cut the lead to five, but would push it back to a game-high 15-point lead to end regulation.

Clemson shot 62.5 percent in the second half, including 7-of-12 (58.3%) from three. The Tigers finish the home schedule in 2023-24 at 12-4 with the most attendance throughout a non-NIT season since 2017-18.

The Tigers completed back-to-back 20-win seasons for the sixth time in program history and the second time under Head Coach Brad Brownell. Clemson won its 72nd game in ACC play since 2017-18 - the fifth most in the league during that time.

Clemson finishes the regular season on Saturday, March 9 when it travels to Wake Forest. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on ACCN.
