Clemson early enrollee enters the transfer portal
Clemson freshman defensive end Adam Kissayi entered the transfer portal on Sunday. Kissayi enrolled at Clemson in January and played in the Orange and White Spring game held on April 6.
The 6'8, 235-pound Palm Bay, FL native originally committed to the Minnesota Gophers on June 18, 2023, but later decommitted on July 13, the day he received an offer from the Tigers. One day later, on July 14, he pledged to Clemson.
Kissayi, the 27th-ranked edge rusher, according to 247Sports, was a standout at Heritage High (FL), where he tallied 35 tackles, four sacks, and nine tackles for loss in 2023.
Kissayi was likely a redshirt candidate for the upcoming season with defensive tackles Peter Woods (starter) and Caden Story joining T.J. Parker (starter), Cade Denhoff, Zaire Patterson, Jahiem Lawson, A.J. Hoffler, Armon Mason, and fellow freshman Darien Mayo at defensive end.
Heach Coach Dabo Swinney seemed excited about Kissayi's potential when he recruited him for Clemson highlighting Kissayi's tall and lean frame, along with his ability to get after the quarterback quickly.
Before his commitment to Clemson, Kissayi held offers from Minnesota, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, and others.
