Three-star Logan Anderson commits to Clemson

Clemson landed three-star linebacker Logan Anderson today as the latest addition to the program’s standout 2025 recruiting class. Anderson is 6’2, 220 pounds from Fyffe High School in Alabama. He chose Clemson over offers from SEC schools, including Georgia and Auburn. Anderson informed the Clemson coaching staff of his decision this morning.

The three-star’s recruitment blew up this summer on the camp circuit, and he quickly turned into a Power Four-level target. Clemson entered Anderson’s recruitment when they offered him on June 4, after he competed at Clemson football camp. Defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin was Anderson’s primary recruiter.

On social media, the Alabama native claims he runs a 4.5-second laser time 40-yard dash, squats 460 pounds, and benches 305 pounds.

While Anderson is just ranked as a three-star and is outside the national top-400 recruits, we expect those numbers to rise as the industry catches up with his progress this summer and discovers more about his game. He’s considered a late-blooming prospect and is Clemson’s first linebacker commit in the 2025 class.

Anderson’s commitment is the latest Clemson recruiting win in Alabama. While he’s the first Yellowhammer State recruit to commit to the program in the 2025 cycle, the Tigers have poached Peter Woods‍, T.J. Parker, Christopher Vizzina‍, and Jay Haynes from the state in the past three recruiting classes.

Clemson’s 2025 group ranks first in the ACC and is top-six in the nation, according to the On3 industry rankings.

Three quick film notes:

- Anderson is a hard-hitting linebacker who has excellent closing speed. He’s a clear difference-maker. His recruitment might have started slower because he plays for a smaller school (Alabama 3A) in a town with a population under 1,000 (per the 2020 census).

- He fits the Clemson linebacker “mold.” Anderson is a hard hitter who is strong and has 4.5 speed. He plays with a high motor.

- His first-step quickness helps him create big plays in the backfield, in both the run and pass game. Anderson projects as a low four-star recruit based on the film I have watched.

What’s next?

Clemson has endured a rough year recruiting 2025 linebackers. They missed on four-stars Nasir Wyatt‍, Kamar Archie‍, Brett Clatterbaugh‍ and three-stars Mark Iheanachor‍, and Chase Taylor. Four-star Ty Jackson is the only uncommitted linebacker left on Clemson’s 2025 board, but he is unlikely to choose the program. Clemson will take multiple linebackers in the 2025 class, so they’ll need to expand the board and offer more players to secure a second commit.
