Shelton Mitchell Update
Clemson officials tell us Shelton Mitchell arrived safely back in Clemson this afternoon.
He is currently undergoing concussion protocol and his status will be updated during head coach Brad Brownell’s media availability tomorrow afternoon.
Mitchell took a forearm to the head as he drove to the basket in the final seconds of Clemson's overtime loss at Florida State. He hit the ground hard and couldn't stand up.
He looked dazed as he was carried off the court by two people. Mitchell stayed the night in a Tallahassee hospital, took a CT scan and was further evaluated.
With Mitchell going under the concussion protocol, it is highly unlikely he will play against the Duke Blue Devils Sunday afternoon, leaving the Tigers even more short-handed.
