The Storylines

Today's contest represents a matchup of two of the only three active head coaches to have won an FBS national championship, as Clemson's Dabo Swinney and Georgia's Kirby Smart enter 2024 as part of that trio alongside North Carolina's Mack Brown. Swinney and Smart are the only active coaches in the country that have won multiple FBS national championships, and they are the only coaches to have won a national championship with their current programs.

Clemson's opening possession left a lot to be desiredearly penalty on a positive play, dropped pass etc. leads to an opening punt. UGA football with 12:59 left in Q1.

Clemson's defense plays well on their opening series of the season. An excellent UGA punt leaves Clemson inside the five-yard line.

Interesting first quarter… Clemson's defense looks great, Antonio Williams is off to a strong start as WR1, and the Tigers have kept Georgia from making explosive plays. Klubnik has shown some positive signs. Overall, I think the Tigers have come out well so far against Georgia.

Agree-- at this point, Clemson's looking back at the holding penalty and the illegal formation call and realizing how much the offense left on the table in Q1 against a tough Georgia defense.

A quick scoring drive from No. 1 Georgia pushes the Dawgs lead out to 13-0 over No. 14 Clemson.

The Tigers have to find a way to rip the lid off the offense on this drive...

I'm not sure if Clemson has 14 points in their offense today vs. this Georgia defense.
