FINAL: No. 25 Clemson 66, App State 20

Watching a ton of college football today, and after seeing No. 3 Texas roll into the Big House and dominate No. 10 Michigan, will the narrative around the Wolverines match what we've seen nationally about Clemson?

The Oklahoma State vs. Arkansas game was a great one, with the Cowboys winning in overtime, 39-31, but man, you cannot help but look at the Razorback's offense and be in awe of how good it is under Bobby Petrino already. The Hogs put up 648 total yards in the game. Sheesh.

Also, early on, South Carolina is up 10-0 over Kentucky, and Brock Vandergriff for Kentucky has been awful. Didn't have the Gamecocks leading that one on my Bingo card.

South Carolina just hammered Kentucky, 31-6. I really didn't see that one coming. Also, how about NIU knocking off No. 5 Notre Dame today in South Bend? What a wild start to the 12-team playoff era.

That's the kind of start the Tiger offense needed after last week.

That is the big plays that this offense has been missing. Hopefully it is a start of a trend for this offense.

Tigers get a stop defensively after giving up a first down. Shelton Lewis missed an opportunity for a pick six on the first snap. Clemson's offense with the ball back when play resumes, leading 7-0 with 11:56 left in the first quarter.

Cade Klubnik scores on a 2-yard QB keeper, set up by a 52-yard reception from Bryant Wesco. Wesco already has 3 catches for 131 yards and the earlier score.

Look, I understand the competition, but this is the type of performance the Tiger offense needed.

Clemson has 320 yards of offense in the first quarter. Cade Klubnik is 10/10 with 204 yards and 2 TDs in the air on one on the ground, including a Jake Briningstool TD just now.

Tigers rolling up, 28-0 here in the first quarter.

After a pass interference penalty, Cade Klubnik hits Antonio Williams in stride for a 29-yard TD.

35 points in the first quarter is the most under Dabo Swinney. What a performance for this Clemson offense -- like Lawton said, yes, it's App State but Tigers are clearly taking out frustration from last week on the visitors from Boone.

It sure seems like Clemson wanted to show the haters something...wowza!

Cade Klubnik scored on the quarterback counter and it's Clemson up 42-0. It can't be understated that this performance was much needed for this offense.

App State with a nice 7-play, 63 yard drive, capped off with a 4 yard TD run from Anderson Castle.

Mountaineers down five touchdowns at 42-7 with 10:39 to play before the half.

TJ Moore gets his first touchdown in a Clemson uniform -- a 33-yard strike from Cade Klubnik over the middle. 7 drives, 7 scores for the Clemson offense.

About the only thing that's gone wrong for Clemson just happened moments ago -- Antonio Williams fumbled the punt and App recovers. Mountaineers with the ball in Clemson territory.

App State cashes in on the takeaway with a 36-yard field goal.

Cade Klubnik connects with Jake Briningstool for a 17-yard touchdown. That's his second touchdown grab of the night. 8 possessions, 8 touchdowns for the offense tonight. 525 total yards of offense.

App State comes out with a strong start to the second half with a score.

Clemson still leads 56-20 with 12:24 in the third quarter.

Tigers elect to go for it on 4th down with the reserves in. Christopher Vizzina scores on the keeper from 5 yards out to make it 63-20 with 3:10 to go in the third quarter.

The Tigers make a statement after last week's loss to Georgia, putting up 712 yards of total offense with a 56-point first half and it was really nice to see them respond that way. Clemson will be off next Saturday before NC State in Death Valley.
