Sammy Brown on Stanford Win: "It’s good to put a smile on people’s faces and get a win"

On the Defense: “I thought they (Stanford) did a great job in the second half of responding. They threw a little funky stuff at us in the first half, and I thought we did a great job adjusting, getting everything correct, and reading the keys. “
On Red Zone Defense: “Coach Swinney challenged us this. He said we gotta get better in the red zone. He really put it on us to get better in the red zone, and I was really proud when we went out there and we held them out. I thought we did a great job. We read our keys, and we just played football. We played how we know to play, and we didn’t freak out. And I thought we did a great job.”
On His Personal Growth: “I’ll say it’s definitely slowed down a lot. Getting in there in that App State game, it was like, whoa. So, it’s good, it’s slowed down a little bit. It’s starting to come to me more naturally now.”
On What it Meant to Win Following the Hurricane: “I’m just really happy that we can put a smile on people’s faces. I know a lot of people are going through a lot of hard stuff. I know a lot of people that are losing their homes and their property. So, it’s good to come out here. I know a lot of people that weren’t able to come to the game were at least watching. So, it’s good to put a smile on people’s faces and get a win.”
On Making an Impact This Early in his Career: “It’s just a blessing, and I’m really thankful to be here. I’m really thankful that God has given me the opportunity to be here, and I want to give all thanks to him because I wouldn’t be here without him. I just thank everybody around me for bringing me along in the spring. It was rough, I mean, it was hard when I first got here, but it’s slowed down. It’s not quite there yet. I’m not a perfect player, but it’s definitely slowing down.”
