Noble Johnson expected to become 3rd Clemson Player in Transfer Portal
Clemson wide receiver Noble Johnson, a redshirt freshman, is reported to be entering the transfer portal, which opened today and will remain open until December 28. Johnson joins wide receiver Troy Stellato and safety Sherrod Covil Jr. as players who have announced their intentions to transfer to another program.
Johnson, a former four-star recruit from Rockwall, Texas, came to Clemson with impressive prep credentials, including 101 career receptions for 1,739 yards and 14 touchdowns at Rockwall High. He played in the All-America Classic and was ranked among the nation’s top 300 players by multiple recruiting services.
During his time at Clemson, Johnson saw limited action, recording three receptions for 16 yards across games against Appalachian State, Wake Forest, and The Citadel. His first career catch, a five-yard grab from backup quarterback Christopher Vizzina, came against Appalachian State.
After redshirting in 2023, where he played 13 snaps in four games, Johnson’s contributions remained sparse, and he is now seeking a program where he can take on a larger role.
