GREENSBORO, N.C. – Clemson Women’s Basketball gave sixth-seeded Louisville (21-9) all it could handle, leading for more than 17 minutes in a game that featured 11 lead changes and 10 ties, but the Cardinals were able to outlast the Tigers (14-17) in overtime, 70-68, in the 2025 Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament second round.

Time and time again, the Tigers found responses in critical moments, including a pair of three-pointers. With the game on the line and the Tigers trailing 60-57 in regulation, Hannah Kohn buried a three-pointer with 4.6 seconds to play to send the game to overtime. With Clemson trailing by two in overtime, Raven Thompson hit a corner three-pointer with 49.2 seconds to play, giving the Tigers a one-point edge.

Kohn finished with 14 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3FG), while Mia Moore, Loyal McQueen and Raven Thompson scored 12 points apiece. Clemson fell to Louisville, 78-52 just a week ago on Feb. 27, but went toe-to-toe with the Cardinals on Thursday night.

After falling behind 7-0 in the first quarter, Thompson clawed the Tigers back into it with five straight points, earning a basket and a foul with 4:55 to play in the first. Hannah Kohn buried a three-pointer and Moore hit her fifth of the tournament to tie it up. The Tigers took their first lead of the game with 2:03 to play on a Tessa Miller layup.

Kohn hit another triple to push the lead to five at 16-11 to open the second quarter. The Cardinals went on a 15-2 run over a 4:02 stretch to reclaim the lead, a 28-20 advantage, before Moore put an end to the run with a short jumper and a fastbreak layup. Clemson outscored the Cardinals 9-2 over the final 3:43 and trailed by a score of 30-29 at halftime.

The first half mirrored the teams’ previous meeting seven days earlier where the Tigers trailed 31-30 at the break.

Summah Evans hit a pair of three-pointers and Anya Poole hit two layups early in the second half as Clemson took back the lead, and stretched it to seven at 45-38 with 4:02 left in the quarter on a pair of Thompson free throws and Clemson clung to a 47-43 lead at the end of the third.

Louisville came out strong to start the fourth quarter, taking a 50-49 lead with 6:55 to play in the contest, but Clemson had an answer in the form of McQueen, who finished through contact for a layup and hit the free throw. The teams traded blows, and after Louisville took a 57-54 advantage, Kohn hit her third three-pointer of the night to draw even with a minute to play.

Louisville looked to have the contest in hand as Clemson intentionally fouled to send the Cardinals to the line down two, but McKenly Randolph hit just one. McQueen found Kohn, who launched from 26 feet and connected with 4.6 seconds to play and tie the game at 60-60. Louisville’s desperation attempt was wide, sending the game to overtime.

McQueen had four points in the first two minutes of overtime, but Louisville maintained a 66-64 edge until Thompson buried the corner three with 49.2 seconds in overtime. Following Clemson fouls that sent Moore to the bench, the Cardinals drained two free throws for the lead and extended it to three at 70-67 with five seconds remaining. McQueen drew a quick foul on the offensive side and sank one free throw, but the Tigers fell in overtime, 70-68.
