Mia Moore’s Double-Double Leads Tigers To 72-51 Win Against Mercer
Macon, Ga., Nov. 6, 2025 – Senior guard Mia Moore (20 points, 10 rebounds) collared her 14th career-double, propelling Clemson (2-0) to a 72-51 win against Mercer (1-1) on Thursday night at Hawkins Arena.
Senior guard Rachel Rose, making her 99th career start, added 16 points while shooting seven of ten from the field. Senior guard Taylor Johnson-Matthews finished with 11 points (3-4 from 3PT), giving the Tigers back to back games with three players in double figures. Senior Forward Raven Thompson was the leading assister, dishing out five total. Senior guard/forward Hadley Periman (season-best 10 rebounds) collected her 18th career game of double-figure boards.
The Tigers held the Bears to just 34 percent shooting from the field (18-of-53) while forcing five turnovers on the night. Clemson hauled in eleven offensive rebounds as a team, while graduate forward Demeara Hinds collected five of her own. Micah O’dell led Mercer in scoring with 16 points, but was the only Bear in double figures.
HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
The Tigers got off to a fast start, shooting 10 of 18 from the field and three of seven on three-pointers in the first period. After outscoring the Bears 27-16 in the opening period, the Tigers continued to pull away in the second half and did not allow a field goal in the final 7:26 of play.
NOTABLE NUMBERS
Clemson expanded its lead in the all-time series against Mercer to 9-2 and the Tigers are winners of six straight.
Coach Poppie remains undefeated against Mercer, with a 6-0 record as a head coach.
Moore (20 points, 10 rebounds) logged her 14th career double-double.
Periman (season-best 10 rebounds) collected her 18th career game of double-figure boards.
Rose (99th career start) added a season-high 16 points.
Kohn (12 points, three 3-pointers) collared her second of two-plus 3-pointers.
For the second straight outing, Clemson has gone with the same starting five (Johnson-Matthews, Moore, Rose, Hinds, and Thompson).
