Host Lawton Swann spoke with C.J. Spiller in an exclusive interview on Clemson Sports Talk Wednesday night to talk about being back in Clemson for homecoming and the running back situation.
On being back in Clemson:
"It was a great time, always great to come back to Tigertown and be amongst 80,000 family and friends to watch the Tigers play. It was great being back in the Valley again."
On Travis Etienne:
"He runs with great power, great authority. His explosiveness to be able to run away from defenders, that's what separates the good running backs from the great. To be able to get into the open field, once you get past that second level, now it's up to you to cap off that touchdown run because your offensive line and your receivers have done a great job of securing that second level for you. It's up to you to cap it off. He looks great. I wish him nothing but the best."
On seeing #28 on the field:
"I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it. Seeing that number out there. I've seen it on tv but having a chance to see it in person this past weekend at the homecoming game. I'm still kind of mind-blown, like wow, my numbers really out there on somebody. I never thought that I would allow someone to wear it unless it's like my nephew or my son who's going to come to Clemson. But to see what he's done and how his confidence has grown, game to game, week to week, he's going to be a tremendous running back for this program. As long as he keeps doing what he needs to do, he's going to make the #28 thrive."
