Former Tiger Jaron Blossomgame Will Play in Summer League with Spurs
CLEMSON, S.C. — Former Clemson University men’s basketball standout Jaron Blossomgame will participate in the 2018 Utah NBA Summer League as a member of the San Antonio Spurs.
Spurs assistant coach Will Hardy will have head coaching responsibilities in Utah this summer. The Spurs will play three games against Utah, Atlanta and Memphis with all three contests begin broadcast on NBA TV.
Blossomgame, a 2017 NBA Draft second-round selection of the Spurs, played 50 games for the Spurs NBA G League affiliate, Austin, last season. Blossomgame was instrumental in the Austin Spurs winning the G League Championship.
Blossomgame averaged nearly 30 minutes per contest and averaged 16.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. He shot 54.5 percent from the field, 30.1 percent from distance and 78.5 percent at the charity stripe for the Austin Spurs. He also added 70 assists, 40 steals and 23 blocks.
He finished with the second-highest plus-minus of anyone on the roster with a +221 over the course of the season. Blossomgame’s 408 rebounds led the team, while his 118 boards on the offensive glass also led Austin.
