Tide, Tigers Top College Football Playoff Rankings
The Playoff Committee's second set of rankings for 2018 were released in between the Kansas - Michigan State and Duke - Kentucky basketball games tonight on ESPN.
Much like last week, No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Clemson took the top spots in the polls. Following LSU's loss a week ago to Alabama, the Bayou Bengals dipped to No. 7 opening up a spot in the top four. The No. 3 spot now belongs to Notre Dame, and the new No. 4 team is Michigan.
Clemson is 9-0 with a primetime matchup with No. 17 Boston College looming this weekend in Chestnut Hill, MA. The Tigers boast quality wins over No. 13 Syracuse and No. 14 NC State.
Clemson has been in the top four for 19 releases of the playoff rankings, second only to Alabama's 22 releases. Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State are the only three teams to appear in all 26 sets of rankings released by the committee in the playoff era.
