Clemson moves up in both major polls after Penn State, TCU fall
Once again, the Clemson Tigers moved up in both major polls after an eventful Saturday for two teams in the top five as No. 2 Penn State, and No. 4 TCU were both knocked off. The shakeup certainly makes things more interesting heading into Tuesday's release of the College Football Playoff rankings.
Alabama held on to the top spot, followed by Georgia at No. 2. Ohio State's comeback win over Penn State helped launch the Buckeyes to No. 3 in both major polls, followed by fellow Big 10 school Wisconsin at No. 4.
In the AP Poll, Notre Dame's 35-14 win over NC State was enough to push the Irish ahead of Clemson. The Tigers are ranked sixth, followed by Penn State, Oklahoma, and Miami. TCU rounds out the top ten.
In the Coaches Poll, the Tigers checked in at No. 5, followed by Miami and Penn State. Notre Dame was ranked eighth and two schools from Oklahoma, the Sooners and Cowboys make up the top ten.
Clemson (7-1, 5-1) will face NC State (6-2, 4-0) at 3:30 PM this Saturday in Raliegh.
Take a look at both the AP and Coaches Poll.
