Why is #14 Diondre Overton being overlooked as a Receiver?

It's obvious he's not a priority for Clemson based on the limited throws during the game. According to Coach Scott, Overton would be an impact player during his last year at Clemson. The only impact Overton is having is blocking DB's, being a team player/leader and totally loyal and committed to Clemson.

A 6'5, good hands, slant, deep threat, jump ball, back of endzone and newly slot player has barely had 3 balls thrown in his direction all season. One would think there is some type of issue between the Quarterback or coaching staff that Overton is limited as a blocker. So, what is the issue? If the backup receivers have more attempts than the starter one would believe he's purposely not being targeted as a receiver.

A perfect example is the Charlotte 49ers game, Higgins received the ball without question. Ross is not playing who usually gets 4-5 throws per game. So, one would believe Overton would get at least 3 5 attempts during this game. So, what does he get "1" throw with limited opportunity to gain yards let alone score a touchdown. Because Overton is in the starting lineup, he's pulled out to give the 2nd and 3rd string players an opportunity to get balls thrown to them and score touchdowns.

Clemson is building a culture to ensure team first. That's the essence of ALLIN. Awesome!!! I applaud team concept. But, don't be fooled they aren't taking care of players to ensure they stay committed and receiving their touches. My personal thought is Overton being a graduate student and has only 4 months left, they have turned the chapter on this young man and focusing on developing their younger receivers. Which causes me to ask where is Clemson commitment and loyalty to Overton?
