Former Clemson Tiger Deshaun Watson was at it again in a matchup between two of the NFL’s young star quarterbacks, outdueling Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-24, on Sunday.
Watson threw for 280 yards and a touchdown while adding 42 yards and two more scores on the ground, including the game-winner with just under seven minutes left in the game.
The Chiefs led 24-23 in the fourth quarter before Watson took the Texans 93 yards on 12 plays for the game-winning score with 6:24 left in the contest. Watson found DeAndre Hopkins for the 2-point conversion giving the Texans the final margin of 31-24.
Hopkins brought in nine receptions for 55 yards and it was his sliding catch on a fourth-and-three that iced that game with less than two minutes remaining.
The Texans (4-2) will take on the Colts next Sunday.
