Tommy Bowden, "Clemson and Alabama are the best two teams. Clemson might be the best."
One of our favorite segments each week is when Tommy Bowden joins us to dive into the College Football Playoff rankings and much more. This week, Coach Bowden gave us his thoughts on the third week's rankings and Clemson being ranked second.
On the College Football Playoff Rankings:
"I think Clemson and Alabama are the best two teams and Clemson might be the best. I think they are the most balanced. They're rushing for 220, throwing for right around 200, the defense is really good. With their offense, they've got a little bit more inventory than what Alabama does. I think Clemson might be the best team. I think the committee has done a really good job."
On Miami and Clemson:
"Right now Miami is not as talented, very close to being as talented, but they are playing with a lot of confidence right now."
On Oklahoma:
"Oklahoma's best chance to make it to the National Championship game would have been to keep Brent Venables. Once they decided to keep Stoops and let Dabo make a run at him (Venables), their defense, that's why I would say they are going to have a hard time. Their defense hasn't recovered since he left."
