Five-Star Wideout Commits to Clemson
The rich got richer today as Clemson landed 5-star Justyn Ross from Phenix City, Alabama. Ross, who made national highlight reels last night with a circus catch, will join Trevor Lawrence at Clemson giving the Tigers a bright future in the downfield passing game.
With the signing of Ross, Clemson has now signed the top prospect from six different states.
Ross, who spurned in-state schools Alabama and Auburn will look to become Clemson's next star wideout.
With Ross' commitment, the Tigers gained the top prospect in six states. The Tigers already landed the top recruit from South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio. Now the top player in Alabama is headed to Clemson.
Ross, a 6'4 receiver with incredible ball skills will step on campus ready-made for the college level. At nearly 200 lbs, Ross could afford to pack on a little muscle mass but is certainly a high-value target nonetheless.
Ross' biggest strengths are his explosive playmaking abilities and his body control. He has a huge wingspan and large hands making for a spectacular catch radius. At 6'4, he also has the ability to be elusive in the open field and can start and stop on a dime.
Ross will win more one-on-one battles than he loses at the collegiate level. Once he puts on the extra pounds through strength training, Ross could become one of the top targets in college football.
