Clemson Notes:

• ·Clemson is 3-1 and is coming off of a dramatic, come-from-behind 57-54 victory over Monmouth on Nov. 19 at Littlejohn Coliseum. The Tigers trailed by five points with 24 seconds remaining in game, and scored eight points in the final 20 seconds to come from behind to win by three. The finish made ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays the next day.
• Sophomore Jaia Alexander scored a career-high 17 points in the game against the Hawks, including 11 in the fourth quarter, and six in the final 20 seconds to spur the comeback.
•  Junior Danielle Edwards posted 16 points and sophomore Kobi Thornton had 12, along with a team-best eight rebounds.
• Thornton is averaging 11.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game to lead the Tigers in both categories.
• Edwards is averaging 10.8 points per game and leads the team in steals with 3.5 per game and assists with 2.0 per game.
• Edwards tallied an impressive nine steals on Nov. 13 against South Carolina State, tying the Clemson school record for steals in a single game. Edwards is now one of five Tigers all-time to record nine steals in a game, a feat which was last accomplished 30 years ago by Ramona O’Neal against Virginia on Feb. 14, 1987.
• Freshman Tylar Bennett has a team-best 11 blocked shots on the season, an average of 2.8 per game.

Series Information:

• Clemson and Detroit Mercy have met once previously, but not since the 1982-83 season. On Feb. 13, 1983, the two teams squared off in the East Carolina Lady Pirate Classic in Greenville, N.C., with the Tigers winning, 83-58.
• The Tigers and Buffalo have also met once previously, two seasons ago at the UCF Thanksgiving Classic in Orlando, Fla. The Bulls won that contest 61-51 on Nov. 29, 2015.
