Clemson’s 2020 recruiting class added some depth at quarterback at three-star in-state prospect Hunter Helms committed to the Tigers today at Gray Collegiate Academy. Helms was a Holy Cross commit previously, but when a spot came open at Clemson, it was an opportunity of a lifetime.
When we spoke with Helms recently he told us that he was excited about a chance to compete at Clemson.
"Oh, yeah, I definitely welcome the challenge. There's gonna be competition anywhere you go. But obviously the competitions on another level at places like Clemson,” Helms noted. “I definitely look at things like that and I welcome it, that's for sure. That doesn't really scare me away or anything. Like I said, I love competition.”
Helms grew up following the Tigers and now the 6-foot-2, 205-pound quarterback will be able to play in Death Valley.
“I went up to Clemson a good bit when I was growing up and it's always fun going to Tiger Town.”
Helms joins D.J. Uiagalelei at quarterback in the 2020 class.
