Clemson vs. Miami ACC Tournament Game Notes

• Clemson fell to Georgia Tech, 56-44, on Sunday afternoon inside Littlejohn Coliseum in the final regular-season game of 2019-20.
• Kobi Thornton led the Tigers with 11 points on the day, making her the second player in Clemson history to reach 1400 points, 700 rebounds and 100 blocks.
• Kendall Spray, who missed the Georgia Tech game due to illness, hit three 3s against Florida State to tie the school’s single-season three point record (73).
• Amari Robinson was named to the ACC All-Freshman team by the Blue Ribbon Panel and the league’s head coaches.
• Amanda Butler was a member of Katie Meier’s staff when Meier was the Head Coach at Charlotte from 2001-2005 (Assistant, 2001-03; Associate Head Coach, 2003-05).

GAME PREVIEW
• Clemson and Miami meet for the 21st time in school history on Wednesday evening in the final game of the first round of the 2020 ACC Tournament in Greensboro, N.C. It’s also the third meeting of the season for the Tigers and ‘Canes.
• Miami downed Clemson, 68-64, inside the Watsco Center in Coral  Gables, Fla in the teams’ first meeting of the season. The Tigers rallied from a 22-point deficit to tie the game with just over a minute to go, but Miami got a clutch three from Kelsey Marshall and a late-game free throw to take it, 68-64.
• Miami completed the regular-season sweep of the Tigers on February 16, downing Clemson 68-43 inside Littlejohn Coliseum.

SCOUTING THE HURRICANES

• Miami downed Pittsburgh 73-54 on Sunday afternoon in Coral Gables. The Hurri-
canes won back-to-back games to close out the 2019-20 season.

• Despite missing 13 games due to injury, Miami redshirt senior Beatrice Mompremier leads the team with 16.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Mompremier recorded her ninth double-double of the season on Sunday afternoon.
• In conference play, Mompremier leasd with 15 points and 9.2 rebounds, despite playing just five ACC games this season.

THORNTON CLIMBING THE CHARTS
• Senior Kobi Thornton scored her 1,000th career point in March of 2019. She now has 1,405 career points for 13th on Clemson’s all-time scoring list.

• Thornton has also amassed 763 career rebounds for 7th on Clemson’s all-time re- bound list. The Shellman, Ga., native also has 142 career blocks, good for #3 in school history.
• Thornton is now the second Tiger in history with at least 1400 points, 700 rebounds, and 100 blocks in her career
• Thornton was named to the preseason All-ACC team, the Tigers’ first selection since
Nikki Dixon in 2014.
