We recently sat down with John Seketa to talk about his book, Clemson Through the Eyes of the Tiger.

Go behind the mask with Clemson Through The Eyes Of The Tiger!

You'll enjoy retired Clemson assistant athletic director, and honorary Clemson alumnus, John Seketa's research into the history, antics, and adventures of the Clemson tiger mascot.
Numerous interviews of former Clemson Tiger mascots and many hours of research led to the publication of this book.

Throughout the summer, we will be sharing chapters from the book LIVE on Clemson Sports Talk. You can listen to the show on Fox Sports Radio 1400 in Columbia, 100.1 The Fan in Florence, and 920 AM The Fan in Manning.

Both Fox Sports Radio 1400 and 100.1 The Fan can be heard on iHeart Radio.

Seketa’s bio from ClemsonTigers.com:

John Seketa and his staff of student workers are responsible for the atmosphere at Clemson sporting events. This involves the coordination of some 120 events during the course of a year. He also oversees all appearances of the Clemson mascots.

Now in his 25th year, Seketa is also involved in the promotion and management of home NCAA and ACC Tournaments at Clemson. He has worked 52 NCAA Championships, 13 ACC Championships, four National Invitation Tournaments, and three South Carolina High School Football title games. In 2004, he was the recipient of the ACC Basketball Officials Association Fred Barakat Award for outstanding service and dedication to the ACC and its basketball officials.

Prior to arriving in Clemson, Seketa was the promotions director at Eastern Illinois University where he promoted all sports. In 1985, he stages a Make-Believe TV Football Game between Eastern Illinois and Western Illinois with ESPN, which was cited in the New York Times.

Seketa is a 1981 graduate of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. After receiving his Bachelor's degree in business administration, his work in athletics began at Western Illinois, where he attended graduate school followed by an internship at the University of Illinois.
