Five-star running back Demarkcus Bowman‍ has put his name into the transfer portal ClemsonSportsTalk.com has confirmed.

As fast as Bowman is on the field, it appears his time with the No. 1 ranked Tigers has gone equally as fast-- if not faster.

Bowman, who Tiger fans had high hopes for, will now seek to play his college career at another destination.

With just nine career carries under his belt, Bowman will finish his time in Tiger Town with just a handful of runs.

An explosive playmaker, Bowman was one of two running back commits to Clemson a season ago, joining freshman Kobe Pace.

The Tigers currently have five-star Will Shipley‍ and four-star Phil Mafah‍ committed in the 2021 class.

We have also spoken with several coaches in the industry, and hypothetically Bowman could be using the transfer portal to leverage an argument for more playing time. If that’s the case, and Clemson worked it out with him, Bowman could return. He doesn’t “have to leave” simply by being in the portal.

The other situation would be for Bowman to move on from the No. 1 ranked Tigers, and if we had to speculate, the Lakeland, FL native returns to his home state to play with the Florida Gators.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
