Terrence Oglesby: 'Good players keep the simple things simple'
Let It Fly: Season 2, Episode 4
The former Clemson basketball star hosts the LIVE version of Let It Fly on Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM. The show can be seen on Facebook, YouTube, and other outlets.
On winning shot at Maryland:
"I used to make it even more simple. Like, I went back to my high school last week, the good players keep the simple things simple, and they make the hard things look simple as well. And whenever pressure ramps up, you just got to rely on what you know. I was always more calm in those situations because everybody else was so riled up.”
On Cliff Hammonds’ block in that game:
“One thing I do remember is Cliff Hammonds broke his wrist. It was on something where he blocked James Gists' dunk attempt, which was one of the best blocks I've ever seen. Cliff just went up there and just took it. I don't know how much you know about Cliff Hammonds, but that was somebody who was just different on every level. He was married, he had two kids as a senior. He was a double major in psychology and architecture. And then he's still playing. He would come to practice some days and he wouldn't sleep. He hadn't slept for a couple of days. Like, that was one of the most amazing human beings I've ever been around."
On having few fans in attendance:
"I don't think the limited fans will affect...because I think it'll actually help, because Brownell calls so many things so many actions. So I think it's going to help and it's going to make it easier to communicate. I mean, you can still get pretty loud with 2,000 people in Littlejohn. I mean, it's a pretty cool venue when it comes to that."
