Following Clemson's practice today Dabo Swinney announced that freshman defensive end Logan Rudolph is out for the season with a shoulder injury. Rudolph will have surgery and his season will come to a close.

Rudolph was listed as a reserve defensive end behind Austin Bryant for the first three games of the season. He played against Kent State and Louisville and had three total tackles, including a tackle for loss in 26 plays. Having played just two games he should be eligible for an injury red-shirt.

The native of Rock Hill, SC who is the brother of Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph, enrolled at Clemson in January 2017. He played just two game at Northwestern High School  in 2016 due to a labrum injury, but had 24.5 tackles for loss, including 14.5 sacks in 2015 as a junior.

Clemson will seek a medical redshirt for Rudolph.
