It’s official: Clemson (10-1) and Ohio State (6-0) will face off in the College Football playoff once again.

The two powerhouses were believed to be headed towards a CFP rematch from the outstretch of the season, and the New Year’s Day matchup will be the third postseason tilt between the two programs over the past four years.

Ohio State heads into the matchup bearing an undefeated record of 6-0, fresh off a 22-10 victory over Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship. Clemson comes in hot, as well, crafting its most complete performance of the season in a 34-10 thrashing of Notre Dame to claim a sixth-straight ACC crown.

Clemson and Ohio State will face off at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, LA. The Tigers have lost in their last two trips to New Orleans falling in the National Championship last season to LSU, 42-23, then in 2017 to Alabama in the CFB Playoff Semifinal matchup, a 24-6 loss to the Crimson Tide.
