Clemson DL Nyles Pinckney, Jordan Williams enter transfer portal

January 4, 2021

We can now confirm that both Nyles Pinckney, Clemson graduate defensive lineman, and fellow defensive lineman Jordan Williams both entered the portal on Monday afternoon. As of 7:00 p.m., no other Tigers were in the portal.

Pinckney was a key contributor to Clemson’s front-four throughout the 2020 season, playing in all 12 games for the Tigers. The graduate student from Beaufort, S.C. racked up 25 tackles during the campaign, including three during Clemson’s 49-28 Sugar Bowl loss. Earlier in the year against Georgia Tech, Pinckney also recorded his first-ever touchdown on a 1-yard rush.

Pinckney will utilize his extra year of eligibility as part of the NCAA’s COVID-related adjustments. As for Williams, he still has two years remaining after redshirting back in 2017.

Younger Tigers in the trenches – including Bryan Bresee, Myles Murphy, and Tyler Davis – will now be called upon to step up in the forthcoming seasons.
