Clemson’s offense got a huge boost tonight with Justyn Ross’ announcement that he will return to Tiger Town for the 2021 season.
We believed that Ross would indeed return after having surgery this past season to deal with a congenital spinal issue that kept him out the entire 2020 football campaign.
Enters 2021 having recorded 112 passes for 1,865 yards with 17 touchdowns in 929 snaps over 29 career games (14 starts).
The Alabama native posted a dazzling true freshman season in 2018, bringing in 46 passes for a team-leading 1,000 yards with nine touchdowns in 15 games. Ross’ back-to-back performances in the College Football Playoff caught the attention of fans from coast to coast as the freshman was simply phenomenal on the biggest stage that season.
Ross caught six passes for 148 yards with two touchdowns in the Cotton Bowl against Notre Dame, then six passes for 153 yards with one touchdown in the College Football Playoff National Championship in Clemson’s 44-16 win over Alabama.
