Collins’ Double-Double Not Enough in 74-64 Loss at Rutgers
PISCATAWAY, N.J. — David Collins (Youngstown, Ohio/First Love Christian Academy) tallied his first double-double as a Tiger in Clemson University men’s basketball’s 74-64 loss to Rutgers on Tuesday night.
The Tigers (5-3) were led by Collins’ 18 points and 10 rebounds, while also totaling two assists and one steal. Hunter Tyson (Monroe, N.C./Piedmont) and PJ Hall (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman) each finished with 10 points.
Naz Bohannon (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain) chipped in eight points and four rebounds off the Tiger bench.
The Tigers trailed the Scarlet Knights (4-3) by eight after the opening stanza. Clemson shot the ball much better in the second half, but came up short. Entering the contest shooting 44.1 percent from three, the Tigers were limited to just 4-for-18 from beyond the arc.
Clemson returns to action when it opens ACC play at Miami on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 12 p.m. The game will be televised on ACCN.
