Defensive lineman announces return to Clemson

Clemson’s defensive line got some positive news on the heels of reports that Todd Bates will be heading to Oklahoma as defensive end K.J. Henry announced his return to Tiger Town.

Henry’s post stated:

“Look at God. That boy's favor aint fair!!!

I made the decision to come to this great university 4 years ago and have been through so much more than I had ever imagined for myself. Getting my bachelor's and master's in 4 years, winning a natty and just laughing so much with these guys I call teammates, all while making my family proud is all a young man could ask for.

But I can't start thanking everybody and saying my goodbyes, because we got more memories to make. The adversity this team endured this year was never something we wanted, but what God knew we needed. The response and the fight of my guys this past season is what made it even easier to make this decision, because I know EXACTLY who I'm coming back to.

AYE Y'ALL BOYS LETS RUN IT BACK”

Henry entered 2021 having registered 60 career tackles (12.5 for loss), 5.5 sacks, five pass breakups and two fumble recoveries in 773 snaps over 31 career games (six starts).

2021: Made one tackle vs. No. 5 Georgia … added two stops vs. SC State … credited with two tackles and a half-sack vs. Georgia Tech … added a tackle for loss at NC State … recorded two tackles and a game-clinching fumble recovery vs. Boston College … made three tackles at No. 23 Pitt … added three tackles (0.5 for loss) and a half-sack in his first start of the season vs. Florida State … had a tackle for loss among his three stops at Louisville … added two tackles with a sack vs. UConn … contributed a half-sack among his four tackles vs. No. 13 Wake Forest … recorded a sack and his first career forced fumble among his two tackles at South Carolina … had three tackles including a key sack late in a bowl win against Iowa State, finishing the year with at least half a sack in each of the team’s last four contests.
