PREVIEW

• Clemson takes a 7-3 record into the 2022 home opening weekend.
• The Tigers will face Boston University, St. Francis and Akron in a round robin tournament before the consolation and championship games will be played Saturday evening.
• The Tigers have outscored opponents 47-18 in games this season, including run-ruling four opponents in the first two weekends.
• Clemson is coming off a 3-2 weekend at the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational that includes upsetting No. 6/5 Washington last Sunday marking the Tigers' first top-10 victory. Clemson handed the Huskies their first loss of the 2022 season. The Tigers also defeated Charlotte in a midweek game on Wednesday.
• The Tigers are batting .283 as a team with a .465 slugging percentage and .375 on-base percentage.
• The pitching staff is posting a 1.40 ERA through 65 innings of work and striking out a combined 71 batters.

THE NATIONALLY RANKED TIGERS

• Clemson received its first single digit ranking in program history clocking in at No. 9 on the ESPN/USA Softball poll this week.
• The Tigers are ranked No. 15 on the USA Today/NFCA poll for the third week in a row.
• D1Softball.com has the Tigers at No. 13, and Softball America has Clemson ranked No. 12.
• Last season, Clemson climbed as high as No. 10 (the highest ranking in program history) on the ESPN/USA Softball poll and finished ranked No. 17.

GUIMBARDA GREATNESS

• Graduate Marissa Guimbarda has been a key contributor to Clemson's offense over the past three seasons.
• Prior to her time in the Orange and Regalia, Guimbarda played two seasons at Furman.
• Most recently, Guimbarda hit her 50th-career home run against Charlotte. She is currently ranked fifth among action players in the NCAA for most home runs in her career.
• She tallied 24 while at Furman and has hit 26 at Clemson.
• Guimbarda becomes the 196th player in NCAA Division I history to hit 50 homers during her collegiate career.
