Clemson United to Host USC Upstate on Monday Night
CLEMSON, S.C. — The top-ranked Clemson men's soccer team looks to build off its thrilling 3-2 win against No. 13 Indiana on Friday when it hosts the USC Upstate Spartans on Monday night. The match will kick off at 7 p.m and stream on ACCNX.
Clemson is 13-0-1 all-time against USC Upstate, and is currently on an 11-game win streak in the series. The Tigers have outscored the Spartans 20-0 in the last six meetings between the two, with USC Upstate's last goal against Clemson dating back to 1989.
The Tigers advanced to 1-0-0 in its home opener thanks in large part to the late-game heroics by Ousmane Sylla, whose second goal of the match lifted Clemson to the victory in front of a raucous crowd of 6,359.
Mohamed Seye shined against the Hoosiers, scoring a brilliant left-footed shot to give Clemson the lead in the first half. He assisted on both of Sylla's goals, earning four points in the Clemson victory. Goalkeeper Trevor Manion earned his first win in the net for the Tigers. He tallied four saves including a diving stop that made an appearance on SportsCenter's Top Ten at the No. 4 spot.
The Spartans are coming off a 4-1 loss to Coastal Carolina in their first match of the season.
