Jordan McFadden says next step for him is 'finishing people'

On the progression of the offense

“I think everybody around the country wants us to be a finished product at game two of the season. Offensively, we still have a lot of work to do, but I’m super confident and encouraged in what we’ve done so far.”

On DJ’s comfort level

“He’s super confident and comfortable. As a quarterback, confidence is huge. Just to see the confidence he’s playing with and how much more he is leading verbally is encouraging to be around.”

On playing with aggression

“That’s the next step I want to take in my game--finishing people. That’s been the extra focus for me, whether it be in spring ball camp or in the season. Just finishing is probably going to be a big thing for me.”

On the chemistry of the offensive line

“I think Will Putnam has done a great job as a center with directing traffic. Me, Walker, Putnam, and Marcus [Tate] all played together last year, so we all knew how to play with each other. Then adding Blake [Miller], who is way ahead of where a freshman should be mentally, he just jumped right in and is able to keep up and make adjustments during the week. I think everybody is super comfortable with each other, and our communication has been good.”

On where the offensive line needs to grow

“Making sure everybody is on the same page, which I don’t think we’ve done a good job of. There are some points, where in Georgia Tech and Saturday, we just didn’t have everybody up. I think that’s the biggest thing with the backs we have -- three NFL backs --  as long as, we are having people up, I think good things will happen.”
