Despite a stressful double-overtime game against Wake Forest over the weekend, this week’s Overnight Sensation, Davis Allen, put his best foot forward and helped maintain his team’s undefeated record.

The senior tight end from Calhoun, Georgia, had a great performance on the field, impressing his teammates and coaches alike. Catching two touchdowns and nailing a third-down conversion, Davis led the Tigers to a 51-45 victory.

"He's more deserving than anybody else on the team," Clemson offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter said. "He's such an unselfish player."

Had the double-overtime game not gone in favor of the Tigers, Wake Forest would have ended the afternoon with a historic win. The Demon Deacons have now lost 63 straight games against top-10 opponents and have not beaten a top-five opponent since 1946. The team also had a 13-game losing streak to the Tigers, which, up until the last few seconds, appeared as if it was about to end.

While Davis had previously struggled to maintain the spotlight over the course of his career, his performance this season has quickly made him a key player on the Clemson roster. Thus far, he has produced nine catches for 120 yards and has made himself a force to be reckoned with for the opposing team.

"I don't think people know how good Davis Allen is," Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei said. "I always say I think Davis Allen will play in the NFL for 10 years, just by the way he works, by his attitude. Every day he shows up with the same mindset and with the same work ethic."

The Clemson Tigers are just a few short days away from one of their biggest games of the season. ESPN’s “College GameDay” will be covering the rivalry match-up vs. NC State this Saturday at Memorial Stadium, and Davis Allen is well prepared to continue the Tiger’s winning streak.
