Clemson safety Van Smith has decided to skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

Smith posted this to his personal twitter account recently:

A school official confirmed that Smith is turning pro.

The junior from Charlotte, North Carolina played a big role as a starter and special teams contributor for the 2016 National Championship team. He was voted All-ACC second team in 2016 with 114 tackles, third-most on the team, in 929 snaps over 15 games.

This season, he had 62 tackles and a key interception in Clemson's home victory over Florida State, which clinched the Atlantic division for the Tigers.
