Clemson's new starting quarterback Cade Klubnik‍ met with the media earlier today. See what the true freshman had to say about his new role in Tiger Town.

On being the starting quarterback: “I think this week has kind of made me realize-- just kind of settle in a little bit. It’s been fun. It’s been awesome-- a dream come true. I’m super excited about this team. It’s going to be fun.”

On facing Tennessee: “Great matchup. Tennessee is a heck of a team. They’ve had an amazing year. I think it will be a really fun game. It will be a big game for us. At the same time, it’s just another game, so we will approach it like any other.”

On the difference in being the starter vs. backup: “Like Coach Swinney and Coach Streeter have told me all year, ‘prepare like you are the starter.’ That’s really been my mindset this whole season-- prepare like I’m the starter. It just goes up another level. My preparation really doesn’t change. I think just the amount of intensity I have in practice.”

Clemson’s Cade Klubnik was named the MVP of the 2022 ACC Championship.

On getting better every week: “I feel like I got better every week-- every day. That’s been my goal since I got here. Don’t ever get satisfied with where I am in my process. Just continue to try and get better every day. Don’t waste a day. It’s been really fun.”

On if he spoke with D.J. Uiagalelei: “I’m going to miss that dude. I don’t think I realized how much he meant to me until he left. So many things off the field-- whether it was encouragement before I went in at practice. I got to talk to him last Friday. I’m super excited about what he’s about to do these next couple of months.”

On what he sees from Tennessee: “They are a great defense. I think they are Top 40 in the nation. A lot of speed. They’ve got a lot of veterans on there. It will be a good matchup for us. They’ve had a great year. It will be a really fun game for us.”
