Clemson missed out on another top offensive line prospect as four-star OT Fletcher Westphal chose the Florida Gators over Clemson, Georgia, Arkansas, and Auburn.
Westphal (6’8, 330-pounds) is the second offensive lineman to land in the SEC over Clemson in recent days, as four-star William Satterwhite chose Tennessee over the Tigers in a head-to-head matchup.
Had Westphal committed to Clemson, he told us that the “family environment” was one thing that stood out to him and that it isn’t replicated in a lot of programs.
Ultimately, he’s heading to Gainesville and will play for Billy Napier, who was a GA at Clemson from 2003-2004 and then returned to Tiger Town from 2006-2010, taking over as offensive coordinator when Swinney was elevated to head coach in 2009.
