At the ACC Kickoff, we had a chance to sit down with many players from around the ACC. Today, we feature our exclusive interviews with Jordan Williams from Georgia Tech, Matt Lee from Miami, and M.J. Devonshire representing Pitt.

Jordan Williams | Georgia Tech, Guard

On playing at Gainsville High School, home of Deshaun Watson:

"Oh, yeah, for sure. I feel like I would be lying if I said that I was like, paying attention-- like every game. I was younger. I was one of those kids running around playing football back in the day to the home games. But I definitely remember him and he definitely left a good impact in this in the city of Gainesville. Just the people around, like he's got so much respect in Gainesville it's crazy. I got a lot of respect for him. Just seeing the way he worked and seeing where he came from. He grew up near my grandma's crib. So just seeing him go from there to where he is now is just crazy."

On his versatility on the offensive line:

"All through high school, I played right tackle. As soon as I got here, I started cross-training, like both tackles just to get familiar with it. Then I started getting real comfortable I left tackle, so the plan was for me to play both if something goes wrong and then we get thrown into a situation where we need more people to be able to play guard to be able to like to hold up against like the shifty defensive tackles or like, straight up power rushers. They thought it would be better to try me out at guard and put somebody else at tackle to make sure the interior of the o-line is protected good. It was definitely a crazy transition at first. I really only had like a week of practice, I think my first game playing it was against Virginia Tech. If you just watch that Virginia Tech game, you will be like, 'I don't know what he's doing out there.' It just felt more comfortable the more I went with and I feel pretty comfortable playing guard now."

Matt Lee | Miami, Center

On joining Miami after being a UCF:

"It's been awesome. I think the transition over the past six or seven months has been like more smooth and seamless than I think I definitely would have imagined-- and even would have thought on the optimistic side. I credit that to, first off, the guys in there really accepted me. The leadership and this and that, with like, open arms and not like being defensive or anything. On top of Coach Cristobal or in our line coach Coach Mirabal empowering me since the day I met them, to this day. Yeah, it's been awesome."

On playing for Mario Cristobal who was a standout offensive lineman at Miami:

“It's unique. I don't know of any schools, if any that have like an offensive line, if you will head coach or that was rooted in offensive line play. He's from Miami and went to Columbus High School, which I'm very familiar with my family and stuff. Plays it UM (Miami) has a great career at UM. Gets into coaching and he's offensive line coach for a while. Then he makes his way into this and that and becomes a head coach. But on a daily basis, it makes a difference because most of your head coaches normally their skill guys, so not that they don't understand offensive line play, but they don't really understand it as well. When it comes to like Coach Cristobal, he's done it as a coach he's done as a player and he's been doing it for a long time. So he understands the ins and outs of offensive line play not only the technical side of it when it really gets like nitty gritty of football, but the mentality in the trenches mindset, if you will, and it makes a huge difference.

M.J. Devonshire | Pitt, Cornerback

On the ACC Kickoff experience:

"It's been fun you get to meet guys that you watched growing up. I watched EJ Manuel growing up, I got to see him play a couple of times. Just watching those guys and getting to talk to them. Watching the ACC Network, react to my pick. Going around meeting different people talking to guys, like yourself, it's just it's so fun. I love doing this and being around people."

On what it takes to be an elite cornerback:

"Funny story. Sidenote, the other day, I said some funny in a training room, and C'Bo our running back No. 24. He was like, 'You know what it takes to be a good corner? You gotta be completely delusional.' And it was funny because like, realistically, you kinda have to be. You have to have the next play mentality. sometimes you get beat. You gotta be delusional, like, 'Hey, I'm still the best in the game. He may have gotten me that play, but he ain't gonna get me the next play and the next play.' So you know, you just build that mentality of I'm going to make a play every chance I get, and you got to embrace the opportunities you get."

On playing against the SEC after being in the league at Kentucky:

"It's like having your crosstown rival. Like they are down there, we're up north, but it's all good football. I've played in both. I've played almost every team in both conferences. I've been a part of the the games where I was on the SEC side playing the ACC. And I was on a side where I was on ACC side playing the SEC. So you know, you just get to competing as different guys that you don't see every day. Different body frames and different guys from different places. A lot of guys from down south get to play against their friends, a lot of guys on my team play against so many guys that you know, and you grew up with. You get to have that type of experience. It's always fun."
