Peach State Clemson commits with multiple touchdowns in season debuts
The 2023 high school football season got underway with a few games last week but really kicked off on Friday.
Here's a quick look at four 2024 Clemson commits who made impactful plays in their senior season debuts:
Sammy Brown: Brown scored four rushing touchdowns to lead Jefferson over Alpharetta. The five-star linebacker recruit scored from 7 yards out in the first quarter, twice in the third quarter (7, 17), and closed out the contest with a one-yard plunge as Jefferson pulled away for the 34-24 victory.
Brown rushed for 1,459 yards with 21 touchdowns while averaging over 8 yards per carry as a junior.
Noah Dixon: Four-star safety Dixon had two first-half touchdown receptions including a long of 40 yards as Troup County defeated Harris County 31-7.
Dixon, a two-way player, had 18 catches for 248 yards and three touchdowns last season.
David Eziomume: The No. 8 all-purpose running back, according to Rivals.com, scored on touchdown runs of five yards (1st quarter) and 37 yards (2nd) in North Cobb's lopsided 28-52 loss to Westlake, the alma mater of Clemson cornerbacks Avieon Terrell and Nate Wiggins.
Eziomume finished with 73 yards on 15 carries. In 2022, Eziomume rushed for over 600 yards while sharing the workload with Michigan freshman running back Benjamin Hall. He also played snaps at receiver, tight end, and linebacker.
Ricardo Jones: Jones did it all for Northside in a comeback 33-21 win over Jones County on Saturday. The No. 10 safety in the class, according to Rivals.com, caught a deep pass to set up a touchdown, intercepted two passes (one late in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory), and recovered a fumble in the Peach State matchup.
Jones had 6 interceptions in 2022.
