Following practice on Tuesday, we got to hear from two former both Adam Randall and Wade Woodaz.
Adam Randall
On the wideouts being healthy:
“It’s just been a great feel. Just going out there and being competitive with each other. Making each other better. Going against some incredibly good corners every day. We are pushing each other. I feel like every day we go out there we are playing the best corners and the best team in the nation and that makes us stronger.”
On R.J. Mickens thanking the offense for pushing the defense:
“Coach Swinney was saying how both sides were very competitive and both sides made plays it wasn’t a lopsided scrimmage. I attest that to our coaching staff and us for going out there and putting the work in every day. I appreciate the defense coming out there with the same mindset every day and getting after us like they would any other team.
On battling with Cole Turner:
“Cole just going out there and being the beast that he is makes me want to elevate my game every day. Us being able to go out there-- I wouldn’t say it’s a competition-- having a friendship that we want to make each other better. We are going to try to be the best guys and continue to go out there and make plays for the team.”
Wade Woodaz
On the opportunity presented while Jeremiah Trotter was out:
“I think it did, Barrett helped me a lot, and Trot was there through everything, so if I was at MIKE I could ask him questions when I came off the field. I already know SAM and WILL pretty good and I know free safety, so learning MIKE just makes it all click more because I know where everything else can fit.”
On the young guys:
“A lot of the young guys have gotten a lot better and building depth is the key to going far. Seeing flashes and sparks from young guys is really promising. Knowing that we can throw somebody in the game and the standard doesn’t change-- they will be able to go and make plays.”
On freshman Dee Crayton:
“Dee is extremely flashy and quick. He’s fast. He can move downhill very quick. He’s a very hard worker. He isn’t going to duck away from putting in work. That’s a good trait to have-- especially when people leave in the future and I know he will step up into a leadership position.”
