I agree about Swamp Kings, it kind of glossed over the really bad stuff. I couldn't help but think about the od relationship between Tebow, the team and Urban Meyer. The difference in who is as a person and what was going on around him was a stark contrast.

TWO TIMES. USC quarterback Caleb Williams has kickstarted his quest for a second consecutive Heisman Trophy. The talented quarterback wasted no time proving his mettle leading the Trojans to a 56-28 victory over San Jose State on Saturday. Williams finished with 278 yards and four touchdowns in the game.
Should he secure another Heisman Trophy this year, Williams will etch his name in the annals of college football as only the second player to achieve this remarkable feat, joining running back Archie Griffin. Griffin achieved back-to-back Heisman victories in 1974 and 1975 at Ohio State.
SWAMP KINGS. I am not going to lie. I tuned into Swamp Kings, hoping to get more juice on the ugly side of things at Florida during Urban Meyer's tenure, especially with how things went for the three-time national championship-winning head coach during his brief stop in Jacksonville.
Instead, the “Untold” series delivered a Gator fluff piece. I wanted to feel like I did when I watched Tiger King-- stunned at the ridiculousness. Instead, Swamp Kings let me down. Some have even labeled it as “disappointing,” and it’s hard not to disagree. Episode 3 “Trouble in the Swamp” gave a look at the issues, but it still felt like it didn't dive deep enough.
While the storyline around Tim Tebow has to be told, there was so much more going on at UF behind the scenes, and while some of that did come out-- like linebacker Brandon Siler admitting to punching a freshman running back in the face for failing during an ab workout-- but it didn’t hammer home the bigger issues as I expected.

TANGERINE DREAMS. How many of you were at the Tangerine Bowl back in 2002? After watching the Tigers get walloped by Texas Tech, 55-15, most of you probably tried to suppress those memories, but here's a quick refresher.
Head Coach Mike Leach’s Red Raiders, led by Kliff Kingsbury, rocked the Tigers from the opening snaps. Kingsbury was named the game’s MVP after completing 32 of 43 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns. Kingsbury also surpassed 5,000 career passing yards in the game, becoming just the third player at the time to pull off the feat.
Five different receivers caught touchdown passes for Texas Tech, and Wes Welker, yep that Wes Welker, had a 59-yard punt return for a score.
Conversely, the Clemson Tigers (7-6) found themselves grappling with the harshest defeat of their season, the sting of the 55-15 outcome cutting deep. It harked back to an era since the 1996 Gator Bowl, where a 41-0 setback against Syracuse painted a somber bowl history for the Tigers.
Here’s what Clemson’s current defensive tackle coach, Nick Eason, said after the game.
“I’m totally embarrassed. This was my last game as a Clemson Tiger, and I got destroyed. I might have more games in the NFL, maybe some All-Star games, but this is one I’ll always remember.”
Here is some good news for those who remember the nightmare that it was: Your Tigers, under new OC Garrett Riley, will debut the air raid offense in Durham one week from today!
SONG OF THE DAY. With the Air Raid coming to Clemson, this one seems fitting!

OFF THE PATH. It wouldn’t be college football season in the South without hurricanes being on the horizon. Good gracious, how often have we seen games impacted by storms? Week 1 of the 2023 season may not be without some issues, as two storms threaten the United States as we speak. Fortunately, Hurricane Franklin looks like it will miss the Eastern Seaboard, but Tropical Storm Idalia has Florida in her sights.
As of 11:30 last night, here’s what Weather.com was saying about Tropical Storm Idalia:
Tropical Storm Idalia could be a major hurricane by the time it moves toward a Florida landfall by Wednesday. This forecast has prompted hurricane, tropical storm and storm surge watches for parts of the Gulf Coast of Florida.
Here’s the update they gave on Hurricane Franklin:
Hurricane Franklin will continue to strengthen southwest of Bermuda and is forecast to become a major hurricane Monday. It will remain well off the U.S. East Coast, but it's expected to generate life-threatening high surf and rip currents early this week.
Stay safe out there! See y'all tomorrow!
