Xavier Thomas
On losing to FSU: “It sucks. A game that we know we should have won. We just gave it to them. We’ve got to flush it. We’ve got a long season ahead.”
On moving on: “We will look at the film and correct the mistakes on Sunday. Come back in on Monday and get right back to work. We’ve got to go up to Syracuse a they are a really good football team.”
On Swinney’s message: “Proud of the competitiveness. We didn’t quit. We didn’t give up. Like I said it came down to a couple of plays here and there. When you are playing a good football team like that, it comes down to a couple of plays. We turned the ball over. They didn’t turn the ball over. Credit them for that.”
On if they pressured Jordan Travis: “I think we did a pretty good job. We didn’t get the job done.”
On the fans: “I really appreciate them. They always come out to support us, no matter the outcome of the game of the season. They are always there for us.”
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
On the defense: “Super proud of the defense and the team in general. We played with a lot of effort. We had a lot of good plays. Overall the effort. I just love seeing my guys fly around. We’ve just got to keep that up and carry it over into next week.”
On the crowd: “They brought it this game. I felt like they made a factor in the overall play. Hyping us up and all that. The crowd had a big part in the game. No doubt.”
On the mindset: “We have that same mindset of a one-game season. Like Coach Swinney says, make sure we play with effort every single play.”
On his sack of Jordan Travis: “It felt really good to be able to make a play for my guys, to be able to get us off the field. Wes made a really good play call and it worked out to get me free to make a play for the team.”
